Karst Country Forest Adventures

  1. Blue Pond Cave & River Experience
    Embark on a unique educational experience filled with adventure, such as:

    • Spelunking and floating through caves
    • Forest hiking
    • River trekking
    • Swimming in canyons
    • Local fauna/flora exploration

    The tour begins at base camp where specific instructions, safety briefing, and the
    necessary protective equipment will be provided (helmet, lamps and life jackets).

    From there, we’ll hike downhill for about 15 minutes on a paved road to Cueva de
    Arenales. Once there, an incredible journey through a river and a canyon awaits us.
    Expect a thrilling leap into the underground world of Charco Azul and marvel at stunning
    waterfalls as you swim through breathtaking limestone canyons. Explore unique rock
    formations and lush tropical forests. Our certified biologists and interpreter guides will
    offer you a great educational adventure.

    After another short hike, we’ll take an adrenaline-filled jump into the water to enter the
    underground world of a local cave. There, you will see a waterfall and the formations
    created by minerals and water through the limestone rock where the caves are formed.
    After lunch, we’ll gather our belongings and relax at a local paradisical beach.

  2. Manatí Forest Hike, Cave, and….Boas
    Our journey begins in the lush woods of Manatí through the beautiful karstic forest. A
    guided 20-minute hike will engage travelers into the sight and sounds of local endemic
    birds, plants, and vegetation. Our biologist and natural interpreters will lead travelers
    into one of Puerto Rico most biodiverse and active cave. You will be able to see the
    Puerto Rican boa, 2 of the 13 species of Puerto Rican bats, and many insects adapted
    to live in the dark caves. As you tour these lands, our Taíno heritage will come to life
    through the study of numerous petroglyphs. After exploring the cave, we’ll get to relax
    and enjoy a natural spring.
